Untitled 10
Someday, I wanted
to reach a blue shore.
Just once, I wanted
to drown there.
I wanted to become captain
of a little brown wooden boat,
to fly without a destination.
We dream
of befriending birds in flight,
of learning how to rise
higher and higher.
Perhaps today
I will arrive somewhere—
not in the same dusty memories
replaying themselves,
but on my own shore,
thick with the scent of the sea.
My sea,
my blue.
