Short Reflection

Banff, Canada. What an extraordinary privilege to visit one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. I could never have captured its grandeur with my camera, so I tried at least to convey something of the atmosphere. I rather like the result. I cannot forget that sunlight. Sitting side by side with my three roommates and talking was such a pleasure, too. It was so cold that a single cup of hot chocolate felt incredibly precious. Even the drive back to our accommodation made me happy. And the place we stayed was wonderful; I slept so well. I woke to the sound of construction in the morning, but I still cannot forget the sunlight filling our room. That memory of greeting the morning in the cool air is so precious to me. Endless thanks to my host parents!
It is truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. Playing games all day during a ten-hour drive, eating breakfast in the back seat, watching Stranger Things at our accommodation—looking back, I made so many memories in Banff. Sometimes I think that if I went back now, I would appreciate it much more. To be truthful, I have regrets. Why did I spend that time the way I did? Could I not have made more of it? Still, what I have is enough. I will carry those happy memories with me and keep living. Sometimes I should simply be grateful that I have memories I can take out and revisit.
